Asset Diversity Factor™

Turning variability into advantage.

Unlock the power of portfolio diversity with Veer’s Asset Diversity Factor (ADF)—an interactive map-based web platform that measures how well your renewable assets work together, and unveils how best to expand your renewable energy portfolio.

Access the tool here.

Normalised daily power distribution

Example of the portfolio effect, where the distribution in normalized daily energy production from a client’s portfolio is shown individually for each assets, and combined as a whole. Note the substantial narrowing of the portfolio distribution relative to individual assets.

How it works

ADF analyses decades of global wind and solar resource data and computes how they correlate against your portfolio’s production and revenue.

It then visualizes:

  • Correlation strength

  • Diversification potential and uncertainty reduction

  • High- and low-value regions for portfolio expansion

All inside a simple, interactive map-based web interface.

What you get

  • A clear measure of portfolio diversification

  • Insight into which assets most contribute to portfolio diversity

  • Global maps showing where the best complementary resources exist

  • A consistent, data-driven framework for portfolio growth decisions

In short, ADF turns resource variability into a strategic asset rather than a source of uncertainty.

What is the Asset Diversity Factor (ADF)?

ADF measures how well your existing and future renewable assets work together.

Wind and solar production rise and fall with the weather—but not always at the same time, and not always in the same way across regions. ADF helps you understand these relationships so you can build stronger, more stable portfolios with lower production risk.

Why it matters

Most developers, power purchasers, and investors evaluate each project on its own. But at the portfolio level, what matters is how each project interacts with the rest:

  • Do two sites produce at the same time, amplifying volatility?

  • Or do they offset each other, smoothing out their intrinsic variability?

  • Which regions or technologies add the most diversification?

  • Where should your next project go to meaningfully reduce risk?

ADF answers these questions on a global scale, using an intuitive and responsive web-based interactive interface.
